Live attenuated virus vaccine.
No cases of congenital varicella syndrome were identified after first and second trimester exposure among 56 live births, but the sample size is too small to draw firm conclusions [1] .The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists considers the vaccine to
be contraindicated during pregnancy [2].
Nonpregnant women who are vaccinated should avoid becoming pregnant for 1 month following
each injection [3].
BREAST FEEDING: Compatible [4].
